Burgundy, White & Green Wedding Flowers: A Modern Bridal Bouquet Trend
Share
There is something incredibly beautiful happening with wedding flowers at the moment, brides are moving beyond the traditional all-white bouquet and embracing richer, more expressive colour combinations. One of the combinations we are seeing more and more requests for at Lillypad is burgundy, white and green.
It is a colour palette that feels elegant, romantic and modern all at once. The deep burgundy brings warmth and drama, while white flowers soften the design and the different shades of green add freshness, texture and movement.
Burgundy, White & Green Wedding Flowers Are Trending
We have been creating wedding flowers for Melbourne couples for more than 25 years, and we love seeing how wedding flower trends evolve. Burgundy, white and green is a combination that has really caught our attention.
It has the richness of a darker colour palette without becoming too heavy, and it works beautifully across bouquets, bridesmaid flowers, buttonholes and larger wedding arrangements.
For Neera and Jonathan's wedding, we were able to bring this combination to life with a beautiful selection of flowers chosen for their individual colour, shape and texture.
Creating Neera and Jonathan’s Burgundy Wedding Bouquet
The bridal bouquet was designed around burgundy calla lilies, creating a strong focal point while giving the bouquet an elegant and sophisticated feel.
From there, we introduced a beautiful mixture of green and white flowers, including green anthuriums, hydrangea, hellebore, phalaenopsis orchids, cymbidium orchids, ranunculus and lisianthus.
We also incorporated trailing amaranthus, which added beautiful movement and a natural cascading effect through the bouquet.

Burgundy Calla Lilies Bring Depth and Drama
The burgundy calla lilies were one of our favourite elements of this bouquet. Their elegant shape and deep colour immediately create impact without needing to overwhelm the rest of the design.
Burgundy is such a wonderful colour for weddings because it can feel romantic, luxurious and dramatic while still working beautifully alongside softer ivory and white flowers.
Green Anthuriums, Hydrangea and Hellebores Add Texture
The green flowers helped give the bouquet a much more contemporary feel.
Green anthuriums have such an interesting architectural shape, while hydrangea provides volume and softness. The hellebore adds another layer of texture and gives the arrangement that slightly natural, garden-inspired character we love.
Rather than making every flower look perfectly uniform, we like allowing different flowers to have their own personality.
Phalaenopsis and Cymbidium Orchids for a Touch of Luxury
The orchids added another dimension to the design.
Phalaenopsis orchids bring an elegant, flowing quality, while cymbidium orchids provide a stronger, more substantial flower. Together, they create that beautiful sense of luxury that works so well in wedding flowers.
For us, it is these little contrasts that make a bouquet interesting — strong shapes alongside delicate flowers, rich colours alongside softer tones and structured flowers alongside natural movement.

Ranunculus and Lisianthus Soften the Bridal Bouquet
Ranunculus and lisianthus were perfect for softening the stronger elements of the bouquet.
Both flowers have a beautiful romantic quality and help bring the burgundy, white and green palette together. They also add smaller-scale detail, giving the eye plenty to discover throughout the bouquet.
Trailing Amaranthus Creates Natural Movement
One of the details we particularly loved was the trailing amaranthus.
It gives the bouquet length and movement, allowing some of the flowers to naturally fall away from the main shape. This creates a more relaxed and organic appearance rather than a bouquet that feels overly structured.
A Modern Colour Palette for Melbourne Weddings
We think burgundy, white and green works particularly well for Melbourne weddings because it can be interpreted in so many different ways.
It can be romantic and classic, contemporary and sophisticated, or loose and garden-inspired depending on the flowers and styling chosen.
The same colour palette can look completely different from one wedding to another — and that's exactly how we think it should be.
Wedding Flowers Delivered to Epping by Lillypad
For Neera and Jonathan, we also arranged the wedding flower delivery to Epping, carefully preparing the bridal party flowers so everything arrived fresh and ready for their special day.
Wedding flower delivery is an important part of what we do at Lillypad. There is a lot of work that happens behind the scenes before a bouquet ever reaches a bride — sourcing the right flowers, conditioning them, designing each arrangement and carefully preparing everything for transport.
We take just as much pride in that preparation as we do in the finished flowers.

Why Burgundy, White & Green Works So Beautifully Together
What makes this combination so successful is the balance.
The burgundy provides depth. The white and ivory tones provide softness. The greens add freshness and texture.
Then, by introducing flowers with different shapes and personalities — from calla lilies and orchids to ranunculus, hellebore and trailing amaranthus — the colour palette becomes much more than simply three colours.
It becomes a complete floral story.
Lillypad’s Approach to Creating Personal Wedding Flowers
At Lillypad, we don't believe wedding flowers should simply follow a trend.
Trends can be a wonderful starting point, but the most beautiful wedding flowers are the ones that reflect the couple, their venue and the overall feeling they want for their day.
For Neera and Jonathan, the burgundy, white and green palette gave us the perfect foundation to create something luxurious, romantic and full of texture.
And this is what we love most about being wedding florists — taking an idea, a colour palette or even a single flower that a couple loves and turning it into something that feels completely theirs.
Burgundy, white and green is certainly a combination we expect to keep seeing throughout the wedding season, and we can understand why.
At Lillypad, every wedding starts with an idea. Our job is to turn that idea into flowers.
