Kat & Ryans Three Foxes Distillery Wedding Flowers, Heidelberg

A Rich and Colourful Three Foxes Distillery Wedding in Heidelberg

Some wedding couples arrive with a very specific floral vision, while others give us something even more exciting, a little inspiration and the freedom to create.

Kat and Ryan were one of those couples.

They came to Lillypad Flowers having fallen in love with the colours and feeling of one of our online flower arrangements. That arrangement became the starting point for their wedding flowers, and from there, they gave us the creative freedom to take the idea and make it completely their own.

We were so excited to work with their beautiful colour palette of deep red, nude and warm sunset tones, using seasonal flowers and unexpected varieties to create something that felt romantic, eclectic and full of personality.

Their wedding at Three Foxes Distillery in Heidelberg was the perfect setting for this style of floristry. The industrial character of the venue provided a wonderful contrast to the softness, colour and abundance of the flowers.

Deep Red, Nude & Warm Sunset Wedding Flowers

The colour palette was one of our favourite things about Kat and Ryan’s wedding.

Deep reds created the richness and romance, while nude tones softened the overall look. Warm sunset colours brought another layer of warmth, allowing us to introduce flowers in shades that moved naturally between red, peach, gold, burgundy and soft neutral tones.

Rather than keeping everything too uniform, we embraced the idea of an eclectic wedding flower style, using different flower shapes, textures and heights.

This meant we could bring together some unusual combinations while still making sure the overall wedding flowers felt cohesive.

For us, this is where seasonal floristry becomes so exciting. When a couple gives us creative freedom, we can look at what is looking incredible at the time of their wedding and select flowers that work beautifully within their colour palette.

Kat’s Statement Red Bridal Bouquet

Kat’s one request for her bridal bouquet was simple:

She wanted red.

We absolutely loved that direction.

It gave us the perfect opportunity to create a bouquet packed with beautiful seasonal flowers, different textures and plenty of personality.

Her bouquet featured an incredible mix of tulips, cymbidium orchids, alliums, orchids, roses, calla lilies, Andromeda, ranunculus, Geraldton wax and anthuriums.

Every flower brought something different.

The tulips added softness and movement, while the cymbidiums and other orchids brought an exotic and sophisticated element. Roses provided that timeless romantic quality, while calla lilies gave the bouquet a more sculptural shape.

Then came the unexpected details.

Twisted alliums added their distinctive twisty stems, while Andromeda and Geraldton wax brought delicate texture. The anthuriums added another strong architectural element, creating contrast against the softer flowers.

It was exactly the kind of bouquet we love creating, abundant, interesting and full of flowers that make you want to keep looking at it.

A Red Bridal Bouquet Full of Seasonal Flowers

One of the advantages of allowing your florist creative freedom is that your bouquet doesn't have to be restricted to one or two flower varieties.

Kat's bouquet was a beautiful example of how many different flowers can work together when they are carefully selected around a strong colour palette.

The rich red tones created the visual foundation, while the warmer and softer shades allowed the individual flowers to stand out.

We wanted the bouquet to feel luxurious but not overly formal, romantic but with a little edge.

And most importantly, it needed to feel like Kat.

A Statement Floral Chuppah at Three Foxes Distillery

The floral chuppah was another major feature of the day and one of the most exciting pieces for our team to create.

For the chuppah, we brought together an incredible collection of flowers and foliage including golden banksias, roses, lilies, double tulips, anthuriums, Vanda orchids and cymbidium orchids.

The combination created a lush, layered installation with plenty of movement and texture.

The golden banksias added a beautiful native Australian element and worked particularly well with the warm sunset tones. Roses brought the romance, while the lilies and double tulips created fullness and softness.

The orchids and anthuriums added something more exotic, helping the chuppah feel contemporary and distinctive rather than like a traditional floral installation.

Magnolia Branches, Witch Hazel & Fragrant Foliage

We also wanted the chuppah to have plenty of natural structure.

Magnolia branches and witch hazel were incorporated into the floral design, adding height, movement and beautiful architectural shapes.

But the witch hazel wasn't chosen purely for its appearance.

We loved the idea of incorporating elements that would engage more than just the sense of sight, with the witch hazel adding a beautiful perfume to the floral installation.

The branches were accented with purple leaf wattle and tea tree foliage, bringing another layer of Australian character to the design.

These foliage elements helped soften the larger flowers while also giving the chuppah a more organic, naturally gathered appearance.

Eclectic Guest Table Flowers

For the guest tables, we wanted to take a slightly different approach.

Instead of creating large, traditional centrepieces, we designed an eclectic mix of individual bud vases. This allowed us to play with different flowers and create little moments of colour across each table.

The bud vases featured roses, poppies and hot pokers, creating an interesting mix of romantic, delicate and architectural flowers.

Poppies brought a beautiful softness and seasonal quality, while hot pokers added an unexpected sculptural element.

We love using smaller individual vases for wedding tables because they can create a more relaxed and intimate atmosphere. Guests can still see and talk across the table, while the flowers create a beautiful collection of colour and texture.

Red Wedding Flowers for a Melbourne Celebration

Kat and Ryan’s wedding is a beautiful example of how a strong colour palette can be interpreted in many different ways.

The deep reds remained the hero, but the introduction of nude and warm sunset colours gave us room to work with seasonal flowers and create something much more interesting than simply using red roses throughout.

For couples looking for red wedding flowers in Melbourne, there are so many options beyond the traditional red rose.

Tulips, orchids, calla lilies, anthuriums, ranunculus, poppies and even Australian natives can all be incorporated into a red wedding flower palette depending on the season.

Working with your florist and being open to seasonal flower choices can result in a wedding design that feels much more personal and unique.

Wedding Flowers at Three Foxes Distillery Heidelberg

We loved creating flowers for Kat and Ryan at Three Foxes Distillery in Heidelberg.

The venue's atmosphere provided such a wonderful backdrop for their floral styling. The combination of the industrial setting and rich, warm flowers created a beautiful contrast.

When designing wedding flowers for a venue, we always look beyond the flowers themselves. We think about the architecture, the lighting, the furniture, the ceremony setup and, importantly, how everything will photograph.

For Kat and Ryan, the deep red and sunset palette worked beautifully against the venue and created a warm, romantic atmosphere throughout their celebration.

A Wonderful Team Behind Kat & Ryan’s Wedding

Of course, beautiful weddings are always a team effort, and we were lucky to work alongside some wonderful suppliers.

The wedding was held at Three Foxes Distillery Heidelberg, with photography by Jonathan Ong Photography. The reception was brought to life with entertainment from DJ Naru, while Kaya Catering looked after the catering.

Live music was also an important part of the celebration, with trumpet and saxophone performances by Gabi Basman.

Every supplier brings their own expertise to a wedding day, and it is always wonderful seeing how those individual contributions come together to create one unforgettable celebration.

The Beauty of Giving Your Florist Creative Freedom

From Kat’s incredible red bouquet to the floral chuppah and eclectic guest table flowers, every part of the design was created with the same philosophy, use beautiful flowers, embrace the season and don't be afraid to do something a little different.

We absolutely loved taking the inspiration you brought to us and turning it into something completely personal to you. Your trust gave us the freedom to work with an incredible range of seasonal flowers, and we couldn't have been happier with the result.

From those gorgeous red tulips, orchids, roses and calla lilies in Kat’s bouquet to the golden banksias, orchids, magnolia and fragrant foliage of the chuppah, every floral detail had its own personality.

It was a beautiful celebration, and we feel very lucky to have been part of it.

Congratulations again to a gorgeous couple.

Love from all of us at Lillypad Flowers.
