Rachel and Sebastian's Autumn toned Winter Wedding Flowers at Rupert on Rupert

A Rich Autumn Toned Romance at Rupert on Rupert

There are some weddings that stay with you long after the last flower has been packed away, and Rachael and Josh's wedding at Rupert on Rupert was undoubtedly one of them. As florists, we absolutely love working with the changing seasons, and this wedding allowed us to immerse ourselves in everything we adore about autumn tones rich colour, incredible texture and flowers that celebrate nature at its most spectacular.

From our very first consultation, Rachael knew exactly what she loved. Her heart was set on the warm caramel tones of toffee roses and the luxurious richness of mocha phalaenopsis orchids. These stunning blooms became the inspiration behind every floral detail, creating a wedding that celebrated the richness and warmth of the autumn season.

Autumn Wedding Flowers at Rupert on Rupert

Rupert on Rupert provided the perfect backdrop for this luxurious autumn wedding. The venue's industrial architecture paired beautifully with warm seasonal colours, allowing the flowers to become a breathtaking feature of the celebration.

Our vision was to create floral designs that felt abundant, natural and filled with texture. Rich shades of caramel, burnt orange, burgundy and deep red flowed throughout the ceremony and reception, creating an atmosphere that was warm, romantic and unforgettable.

A Dramatic Hanging Floral Installation

The hero of the day was undoubtedly the spectacular suspended floral installation that welcomed guests beneath Rupert on Rupert's soaring ceilings.

Overflowing with luxurious toffee roses, quicksand roses, elegant mocha phalaenopsis orchids, striking red ajumah orchids, sculptural hot poker flowers and dramatic burgundy anthuriums, the installation created incredible movement and depth above the reception.

To achieve the scale and fullness Rachael envisioned, we carefully incorporated premium silk hydrangeas amongst the fresh flowers, allowing the installation to remain lush while blending seamlessly with the natural blooms.

As a fun finishing touch, we nestled two cheeky native possum banksias amongst the flowers, creating a playful surprise that perfectly reflected Rachael's personality and added a uniquely Australian element to the design.

Rich Autumn Foliage Creates Incredible Texture

One of our favourite aspects of this wedding was the incredible variety of seasonal foliage.

Layers of red myrtle, nandina, olive, Toorak gum, climbing ficus and agonis created an organic, flowing design that softened the structure of the hanging installation while adding remarkable texture and movement.

We often say that beautiful wedding flowers aren't just about the blooms, it's the careful layering of foliage, colour and texture that creates truly unforgettable floral styling. This wedding was a perfect example of how foliage can transform an arrangement into a work of art.

Rachael's Luxury Autumn Bridal Bouquet

Rachael's bridal bouquet was every bit as breathtaking as the hanging installation.

Designed to feel luxurious yet natural, it featured red kangaroo paw, romantic two-tone double tulips, beautiful toffee and quicksand roses, cascading red amaranthus, vibrant burnt orange Vanda orchids, textured rose hips, sculptural banksia, striking hot poker flowers, and elegant cymbidium orchids.

Every stem was chosen for its colour, movement and texture, resulting in a bouquet that perfectly captured the richness of autumn while remaining timeless and elegant.

Elegant Groom and Groomsmen Buttonholes

The gentlemen wore sophisticated buttonholes featuring elegant quicksand roses accented with subtle seasonal textures and complementary foliage.

Simple, refined and perfectly coordinated with the bridal bouquet, the buttonholes completed the overall floral story without overwhelming the classic styling of the wedding party.
