Some weddings are remembered for dramatic styling, while others leave a lasting impression through their simplicity. Penelope and her husband chose the latter, creating a celebration at Meadowbank Estate that felt effortlessly elegant, romantic and timeless.
From the very beginning, the floral vision centred around soft white blooms, natural textures and delicate touches of blue.
As florists, these are often our favourite weddings to design. Rather than following trends, every floral choice was intentional and meaningful, creating flowers that will look just as beautiful in years to come as they do today.
A Romantic White Rose Bridal Bouquet for a Meadowbank Estate Wedding
The bridal bouquet was the hero of the floral design and reflected everything Penelope wanted for her wedding day.
Designed in a naturally gathered style, the bouquet featured luxurious white roses, delicate lisianthus, romantic ranunculi and textured scabiosa blooms. While white flowers formed the foundation of the design, soft blue delphiniums were woven throughout to introduce subtle colour and movement.
The combination created a bouquet that felt elegant without being overly formal. The soft ruffles of the ranunculi complemented the classic beauty of the roses, while the lisianthus added a delicate garden-inspired touch. Scabiosa provided texture and depth, creating interest from every angle.
One of our favourite elements was the soft blue delphiniums. These delicate blooms connected beautifully with the bridesmaids' dresses and added a fresh, romantic feel to the bouquet while maintaining the timeless white palette.
White Roses, Ranunculi, Lisianthus and Scabiosa in Perfect Harmony
One of the reasons this bouquet photographed so beautifully was the variety of textures used throughout the design.
Wedding flowers don't always need bold colours to create impact. Sometimes the most memorable bouquets rely on subtle variations in shape, texture and movement. The velvety petals of the roses, the layered beauty of the ranunculi and the airy appearance of the lisianthus worked together to create a bouquet that felt soft and luxurious.
Against the stunning backdrop of Meadowbank Estate, the flowers appeared natural, elegant and perfectly suited to the venue's relaxed sophistication.
Classic Bridesmaid Bouquets Featuring White Roses and Lisianthus
One detail we particularly loved during the planning process was Penelope's vision for her bridesmaids' flowers.
Originally, she had hoped for simple white tulip bouquets. We completely understood the appeal. White tulips offer a clean, modern elegance and would have looked beautiful alongside the bridesmaids' pastel blue Meshki gowns.
However, as the wedding was taking place during the Australian summer season, quality white tulips were unfortunately unavailable at the standard we require for our weddings. Rather than compromising on freshness or quality, we worked closely with Penelope to create an alternative that maintained the same timeless aesthetic.
The solution was classic posy bouquets featuring premium white roses and delicate lisianthus.
The finished bouquets captured the simplicity Penelope loved while providing a fuller, more romantic look that beautifully complemented the bridal bouquet. Sometimes seasonal flower availability leads to unexpected design opportunities, and this was certainly one of those occasions.
