From Reservoir to Preston - Lillypad's Journey Since 2001

For over two decades, Lillypad has been more than just a florist. We've been part of life's biggest celebrations, heartfelt farewells and everyday moments of kindness. Since opening our doors in 2001, we've had the privilege of serving generations of local families, building friendships and becoming a trusted name for beautiful fresh flowers within the local Reservoir Community.

Although we've now moved to Preston, our heart will always have a special connection to Reservoir. It was where Lillypad began, where our reputation grew and where so many wonderful memories were made.

Lillypad Became Reservoir's Local Florist

When Lillypad first opened in Reservoir in 2001, our goal was simple, to create beautiful flowers with genuine customer service that people could rely on. Before long, we became the florist many Reservoir locals turned to for every important occasion.

From birthdays and anniversaries to new babies, sympathy flowers and family celebrations, we were fortunate to be part of thousands of special moments. Many customers visited us year after year, and over time we watched families grow, celebrating weddings, welcoming children, organising christenings and later helping them honour loved ones with sympathy flowers.

Those long-standing relationships are something we will always treasure. We didn't simply know our customers, we came to know entire families.

A Trusted Florist for International Flower Deliveries

Reservoir has long been home to a strong and proud Italian community, along with families connected across the world. One of the services our customers valued most was our ability to send flowers internationally through Interflora Flowers.

Whether someone wanted to send birthday flowers to relatives in Italy, sympathy flowers to loved ones in the United Kingdom, anniversary flowers to Canada or special celebrations in the United States, we helped keep families connected through flowers.

There was something incredibly meaningful about knowing a bouquet ordered in Reservoir could arrive on the other side of the world, carrying love, comfort or congratulations from someone here at home.

For many of our loyal customers, international flower delivery became a tradition that continued for years.

As Lillypad became established within the community, weddings quickly became one of our greatest passions.

We designed countless bridal bouquets, ceremony flowers and reception installations, helping couples create unforgettable wedding days. Many of those same families later returned for christening flowers, milestone birthdays, anniversaries and family celebrations.

We also stood beside our community during life's more difficult moments, creating thoughtful sympathy flowers that expressed love and remembrance when words simply weren't enough.

Being invited into so many important occasions has always been one of the greatest honours of being a local florist.

 

Our Home Opposite Reservoir Train Station

Many locals will remember our original flower shop opposite Reservoir Train Station.

It was a familiar landmark where customers would stop in on their way to work, collect flowers on the way home or visit while spending time in the shopping precinct. Our rear entrance faced directly towards Reservoir Library and the rear public car park, making Lillypad an easy and convenient florist for the local community.

Our little shop became a place where customers would drop in just to say hello, chat about flowers or organise something special for family and friends.

It truly felt like home.

 

Growing Beyond Our Original Store

As the years passed, Lillypad continued to grow.

Our wedding and event work expanded significantly, requiring more design space, larger cool rooms and improved facilities. While our Reservoir store had served us incredibly well, we eventually reached the point where we had simply outgrown the space.

In 2021, after twenty wonderful years in Reservoir, Lillypad relocated to our larger warehouse premises in Preston.

Although moving was a big decision, it gave us the opportunity to continue growing while maintaining the personalised service our customers had always loved.

Lillypad Today – Still Local, Just a Little Different

Today you'll find Lillypad in Preston, conveniently located near the Bunnings store on Bell Street.

While we've evolved over the years, many things haven't changed. We still create beautiful fresh flowers every day, still serve many of our long-time customers and still believe every bouquet should be thoughtfully designed with care.

We've simply made shopping a little more flexible.

Our local customers are welcome to visit and purchase fresh cut flowers directly from our cool room, perfect for those who enjoy selecting their own blooms. If you're after something ready to go, you'll also find a beautiful selection of handcrafted bouquets and floral arrangements available for immediate purchase.

It's a modern approach that gives customers more choice while maintaining the same quality and personal service Lillypad has been known for since 2001.
