About Brunswick

Brunswick is one of the suburbs in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is 3.7 miles north of Melbourne’s Central Business District.

As claimed by the 2016 ABS Census, Brunswick had a total population of 24, 473 people. In which, 51.2% were females and the other 48.8% were males. There were also 5,469 families in the suburb. 61.4% of people were born in Australia, too.

History of Brunswick

In the post-WWII, the suburb became the home of a huge number of migrants from southern Europe.

During the 1980s, the suburb’s nightspot was the Bombay Rock. It is a notorious place that witnessed violence between ethnic groups. The venue was highlighted in the 1991 movie, Death in Brunswick.
