Hidden on a hillside in Eltham, on the edge of the Yarra Valley and a short drive from Melbourne’s CBD, Montsalvat is Australia’s oldest continuous artist community and one of Melbourne’s most enchanting wedding and event venues. Inspired by the villages of southern France, its Gothic Revival buildings were handcrafted by artists from local clay and stone, then pieced together with salvaged fragments of Australia’s architectural heritage.

Today, around three dozen heritage-listed buildings sit across five hectares of lush gardens, creating a setting that feels worlds away from the city.
